It's all well and good imagining this interplanetary future but in a practical sense, this is a fantasy. We simply do not have enough resources and skilled, coordinated labor to do this before the climate catastrophe hits. The resources that we *do* have and extract from the Earth is done in the most inhumane way possible, along with being environmentally irresponsible. Ignoring the effects this fantasy has on living, breathing people is unfair.

And maybe this space future might be possible for a tiny percentage of the population, but sending such a small number to space hardly merits calling ourselves an interplanetary species when everyone else is left behind.
